gatorman001, missing your Playoff analysis

I hope you're not pissed about the lack of pick-em participants, but I only watched home games this season and would have been worthless. Plus we only have a few regular posters.

You seemed a little surprised at Manatee this season playing as well as they did. Given how they finished, in your estimation did they over or under perform? Also does Venice roll to another title.

Down in SWFL I was hoping the Pirates finally got over the Naples hump but looking at their schedule, it didn't help them for that test (beat 2 teams with winning records). That used to happen to us in the 2000s, when we got past the first round. Dunbar however surprised me. They've established themselves as a pretty solid program.

The CURSE

Last week I go to a Hardee Wildcat game, first time since the loss to Jefferson in 2018. I thought to myself, they may have a chance to get past the first round.

I go tonight to my second game since 2018 and sure enough that curse was all over Hardee. The center (snapper) was injured so he was out and the backup snapper caused a few fumbles and could not get anything going. The WR receivers dropped more balls than they completed and they could not get anything going whatsoever.

The defense gave up towards the end of the 3rd quarter and you can tell that curse was all over them.

Well, I see Ft Meade who was demolishing everybody also lost. I guess the 11 players that went up there did not make much of difference because it appears the curse was on the 11 that transferred up there.

Laugh all you want to, there is a real curse on this team, in the locker room or at the school itself.

TIme for a change at the very, very, very top and I am NOT speaking of the HC. I think they are great people and hopefully they stay but at the very top there needs to be a change all over the place up there. Just being honest, don't hate the messenger. Whenever your schools begins to "go woke" you know a change is needed.

It's official...

Dunbar has the horseshoe so far and on the road.

Damn, what a finish! Right there for me with the Tarpons playoff 85-yard punt return against Venice, giving Trey Burton the ball back for 2 minutes and ending it with a shoestring tackle in the team's only playoff meeting to send the Tarpons to the region, or the Tarpons beating Ft. Myers in double overtime in the regional final, both at their houses. Those were the days!

Seminole 49 Deland 42 FINAL

Deland from a team standpoint reminded me of a typical Apopka team in as far as physical makeup. The QB has a build similar to what I remember Chandler Cox looking like. There wasn't a whole lot of defense played tonight as there was big play after big play. A number of drives were of the 2-3 play variety for both teams. In as far as Sexy looking to having a more balanced offense, this game saw Deland run 53 total offensive plays of which 83% of them were running plays.

Almost didn't recognize the Legend...trim, alert, well groomed, youthful smile. It's been a decade since my last encounter. He looks like he could easily do 20..25 more. I thought he'd have been enticed ($$$) by now to come home to Polk county to replace another Hall of famer and keep that juggernaut over there sailing along. I'm starting a funding drive here on the East Coast with area coaching contributions quickly adding up. Not that he too isn't loved over here, but we just think with our blessing he would be happier over there. Now that Dade has been legislated out of the way there's no need for any unnecessary bumps in the road.
