This isn’t in Florida but it has some similarities of things that have happened in Florida. Narbonne High in Los Angeles, California recently had their Los Angeles City Title revoked due to some serious rule breaking. Apparently, the other schools in their league knew about it and took forfeits by refusing to play them. The authorities let Narbonne play their season anyway and have issued their punishment after the playoffs we’re completed.

“Coach”

This morning I was in my Life Group (formerly known as Sunday School) at the church I attend in Auburndale. We have a prayer list that we pray over every week. The name “Coach” was the first name brought up. Marvin H. Wiley was the longtime Auburndale High head football coach and athletic director who recently passed away. I’ve attached the beautifully written obituary.

No reason was given at all but there definitely is a reason why he is not the head coach anymore. I hope the team stays intact and they have a successful season. He was given the opportunity to resign instead of being fired. Apparently, he was mismanaging funds and recruiting violations. I love the direction he has their program. This is unfortunate.
