Hardee 28-Ft Meade 20

Frostproof 14-Hardee 0. Game was actually closer than score from what I was told and Hardee's QB overthrew wide opened receivers all night and defensive penalties is what helped FP score. This will wake the players up you can bank on it because I'm sure they will have a "fun" week at practice this coming week.

I got this flu because of my dad shedding it because he had 2 of the C19 shots which destroyed his immune system and making him go blind. I had his blood all over my hands which cause it to spread. My brother in law gets sick every month now since getting 3 of those injections due to peer pressure from other school employees who all now stay sick. It's the vaccinated spreading it all. First time since 2020 we have been sick! It happens every 3-5 years in our household.

But I will be ready for the next 3 home games, cannot wait been wanting to watch since having surgery last year. Now I'm healed really well HardeeWildcatFan is coming out of retirement!! Pain does weird things to your body and brai , wish Neutral was around. Maybe I can pray to have him resurrected.

Charlotte 31-0 North Port

Wet field, slow start. 7-0 at half, and Tarps ran back the 2nd half KO 99 yards. Developing team on Offense, need to start scoring in red zone as competition gets better. But the defense has been playing lights out as they should against the caliber teams we've faced so far. They blocked a punt for a score.

North Port, like Lemon Bay dropped Charlotte because of the lopsided scores, that again weren't doing anybody any good. My youngest son's team put 41 points on them first quarter, and scored a program record 69 points after our backup QB transferred there and said he was going to show charlotte why he should have been the starter.

Going to my first SSAA game Friday

Saw Wilmore Fowler play against us, Sarasota, his senior year for Palmetto. I had never seen anyone jump that high. He would rise and then during his jump he would appear to go up another foot just when it looked like he was at top of his jump. I know it was an optical allusion but I realized I was watching a special athlete. The second time was at the SEC Conference Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky. He had transferred from Kansas to Georgia to finish his college career. He was just a dude then.

Umatilla was the better team until the mistake that led to the MDCA defensive player scooping the football. You might wonder what the quality of football I was watching. I would say it is good 2A or 2B level football. Both teams played well. I kind of forgot I was watching SSAA football.

Going to my first SSAA game Friday

Just got back from Mount Dora Christian Academy. They defeated Umatilla 17-7. It was a beautiful setting with a clean and pristine venue. It was mostly a defensive battle. The game winning touchdown occurred when instead of attempting about a 20 yard field goal with a 7-3 lead in the 3rd quarter Umatilla went for it on 4th and 3. The snap went over the QB’s head. The QB tried to fall on it to no avail. A MDCA player scooped it and took it to the house.

MDCA finished the scoring with TD pass in the 4th. WR Noah Siegers broke free after catching the pass. When he reached the 5 he turned toward the beaten DB and taunted him before crossing the goal line. The refs signaled TD and threw the flag. I’m thinking that since the unsportsmanlike penalty occurred during the play it would not be a TD. After discussing it for what seemed a minute the refs signaled the penalty will be assessed on the kickoff. I called my oldest son’s father-in-law, Dave Stone, who is a former Hillsborough County referee. He said that is the correct call.

I have a new favorite high school football player. His name is Jayden Burgos. Jayden is the backup QB for MDCA who is a 5’7” 130 lb senior. The starter went out in the first quarter with an ankle injury so here comes in Jayden. At first sight I honestly thought he was an 8th grader. Jayden ran the team like the senior he is. Beautiful passes, nifty in the pocket and even better improvising rolling out. Put at least 6”’s and 70+lbs on him and you would have a future FBS QB. Not sure how good the starter is but it would not surprise me if Jayden is the starter from now on.

By the way, both team’s mascots are the Bulldogs. Tavares High is located near these 2 schools and they are the Bulldogs as well. Not sure how that happened.

Manatee 41 Southeast 0 FINAL

I would have told you this was going to be a running clock by half! Southeast is just plain terrible! They had less than 100 yards of total offense. Manatee would have beaten Southeast much worse if they didn't call off the dogs!
Yeah Gatorman what warranted your prediction (27-24)? Either you think Southeast is that good or Manatee is not as good?

Well next week will be a tough one for Manatee. Lowndes is very good! I will say this though. It will be both teams toughest competition to this point........

Win or lose it will help this team down the line!

Hardee 28-Ft Meade 20

I won't be going tonight to the Frostproof -Hardee matchup. Had the flu since Sunday and I'm not going around other people knowing my wife and daughter now has it.

Update on Ft Meade. I "heard" they had a lot of Coaching changes which caused players to quit, so thats the rumor.

I should be ready for the first home game next week, hopefully they have all the kinks worked out.

Going to my first SSAA game Friday

Am I back yet or still Black Listed in Facebook fashion for something I may have written (as a registered Independent) that wasn't to their particular political bent? I keep getting the "message waiting for Mod approval" because I changed emails a couple years ago from my original. By the way my first was a classic post --in 2002 about the Tarpons being the first West Coast team to take down mighty St Thomas Aquinas when the board was swarmed with condescending STA fans.

Manatee 41 Southeast 0 FINAL

Incoming in 10..9..8..7..6..,,,,,,,

Okay gatorman001. The last time I was at this rivalry Stacy Poole was a senior at Southeast. Brutal game as Manatee destroyed the Seminoles 63-0. I realized this wasn’t much of a rivalry at that point.

My nephew was the starting free safety on Coach Bradley’s Braden River 2015 team that made it to the state semifinals before losing to Aquinas 27-10. It was a competitive game but if I remember correctly Aquinas broke off a long TD run right before halftime. The Raiders put a stranglehold on the game after that. Coach Bradley’s Pirates were a fun team to follow. I attended 4 of their games that year. Of course his long time OC, Eric Sanders, is the new Head Coach at Palmetto. There is a former Manatee Hurricane QB that is a coach there. What is his name?

Going to my first SSAA game Friday

Will be attending Umatilla @ Mount Dora Christian tomorrow night. Umatilla left the FHSAA 2S from last year to enter the Sunshine State Athletic Association(formerly the SSAC). Mount Dora Christian is already a member winning the 2023 5A state title classification .

Frostproof joined Umatilla along with a couple of other schools that left the FHSAA to enter the SSAA this season. Former FHSAA state champs Glades Day and American Heritage Del Ray are members. Why are these schools leaving the FHSAA? Some express disappointment with the strong programs getting stronger so it was impossible to win a state title(see Chaminade Madonna) and were looking for a more level playing field. Another reason is they are looking for a more positive experience for their athletes.

One reason I’m taking this opportunity to go to this game is because I did not see a matchup in the FHSAA that got me excited enough to go to. Looking at the Google map quest the Mount Dora Christian’s stadium looks better than many FHSAA schools.

Hardee 28-Ft Meade 20

Mark I really don't know what is going on in Ft Meade nor anywhere else. I've always said what people sow they will also reap. I am pretty sure this is what has happened in Ft Meade if what you "heard" was true.

As for Hardee, from what I've was told, they went back to what they did best which is running the ball. This may give them somewhat an advantage because not many defenses face offenses that run power I or split back these days. Running the ball was Hardee's bread and butter. Also, from what I've was told, the defense is very, very aggressive but has some issues in the secondary which I believe will get worked out. Being it's really the first full game, all teams will have issues due to butterflies and nerves with the players. Other than this, I cannot tell much of anything else. I am going to the Hardee @ Frostproof game come Friday so I will get to see for myself.

Lake Minneola 19 Manatee 57 Final

Manatee needs to fix things in the secondary. They had some break down in coverage when Lake Minneola went to their spread offense. The good thing is it's all fixable and it is not a personal issue! I thought the offensive line played very well. They will continue to get better as the season goes on!

This week it's Southeast. Probably another running clock. After that Manatee will start playing some of the big boys on their schedule and that will be the true test. Win or lose these games will help make this team better as the season progresses. The goal is to be battle tested at the end of the season. Kinnan was well known for scheduling real tough opponents during Manatee's state title runs.

Mark Cannon, your thoughts on the FSU game?

The criticism of FSU’s Oline play was they rotated way too much. Probably should have rode the Oline combination that worked so well in the first drive that resulted in a TD. The Oline is supposed to be the strength of the offense this year. As I pointed out earlier Tech usually had 8-9 in the box. This left one receiver wide open on just about every passing play. Unfortunately, our QB failed to recognize this enough times. Remember, our Oline Coach Alex Atkins is suspended for 3 games for a NIL violation so he was not at the game. FSU decided not to contest the ruling. After what occurred with the overturning of other NIL violations by other schools this was probably a mistake by FSU.

Hardee 28-Ft Meade 20

I didn't get to make it to the game my dad had some issues that day that needed attention. He is a Covid vaccine injury recipient that I tried warning ppl not to get. Older folks are just stubborn and like my dad many of these Covid vaccine recipients they are now blind or going blind, many are deceased. Stay away from these awful evil vaccines!!! You are going to learn more and the full truth about these vaccines starting 2025 and how they damage our bodies just for a profit!!

From what I've heard Hardee's defense is very aggressive, something we haven't seen in sometime and Hardee is back running the ball like the old days. This just might give Hardee an advantage because if players are so use to the run' shoot or spread offense.
Hopefully I won't miss Hardee @ Frostproof this week!!

I am doing good since having neck surgery, 50% of the overall pain is gone, now it's in my lumbar and legs which is from retrolithesis which is opposite of spondylolithesis (slip disc) but it's manageable vs the cervical headaches and shooting arm pain.

I've been thinking of coming out of retirement and going back to work. I use to work in information technology but I've lost all that knowledge so I am truly thinking of completing my 4 years of college (only have 60 credits left) but convert it to become a school teacher, preferably high school history or a conspiracy class. These kids need our help, mainly from us veterans who understands what's going on in our country!! So I am going to give it some more thought and decide in the coming months.

Good thing is I am now down to 215 lbs whereas I was stuck at 240 lbs for years due to not being able to exercise or get outside. Now I get outside sweat something crazy losing all that water. Ppl will be shocked to see I've lost 25 lbs since January. My goal is to hit 200 by December 31.

On the bad side my wife is now going through the same awful stuff I did in her neck and neurosurgeon said she needs surgery. She worked in daycare for 25 years, picking up those kids and working on concrete, two combinations that's not good for the spine. I've studied the spine in great detail since 2012 I may go to school for something that deals with the spine. I may be dead by the time I finish schooling if I go that route, LoL. Our local Judge talked to me about going to college to become an attorney because I embarrassed an attorney in court about 7 years ago and won 2 cases that was against me, they were debt collections and if people only knew the truth about these vultures. All this occurred because I went out on medical retirement and decided the most important bills to pay and what not to pay. They are vultures and once you understand the laws you will find out those collection agencies actually don't own the contract to anything.

I rather help these kids they truly need help!!

Sorry for the life bio but wanted to keep ppl updated since it was a few on here who persuaded me to see a neurosurgeon in Pt Charlotte who just retired on June 30!! I am lucky he was the best around. I woke up from surgery on March 31, 2023 and began crying because if ppl only knew the pain we go through as the pain was finally gone!! It was like a ton of stress was lifted from my upper body.

Anyway have fun, it's just a game, a sport, this is what it's about, to have fun and help these young men mature.

God Bless..,

Mark Cannon, your thoughts on the FSU game?

I like the direction Tech’s program is going. Coach Key is a tough Oline coach with a down to earth personality that most players would love to play for. He wants his Oline to pound on their opponent to get them to eventually submit. Got to love that. QB Haynes was a big recruit coming out of high school and actually has another year of eligibility if I’m not correct.

As for Norvell’s decision to go for it on 4th down, it did not surprise me at all. He has always had the tendency to go for it on 4th down. I believe he may have cost the team, in years past, a victory or 2 with this tendency. He has a lot of faith in his team and players.

Tech’s defense played a lot like teams played FSU last year. Stop the run and dare you to throw deep. DJU’s deep ball is supposed to be his calling card. Not today. His deep balls were mostly uncatchable. Last year Jordan Travis’ knowledge of the offense allowed him to go through his progressions when he chose to. That was not happening enough today. I’m definitely not putting all the blame on DJU because there is plenty to go around.

You can make an argument that the loss of RB Tre Benson is almost is hurtful as any. Power backs with elite speed are hard to find. Benson was a threat to go all the way once he got pass the line of scrimmage with his yards after contact leading all of college football.

On defense I saw players without the sense of urgency necessary. You could call them soft. Nobody can be called a dawg today. A lot of poor angles taken by tacklers. Not just by the newcomers but by some veterans.

This FSU team has been described as a deeper team but without as many top level players. I pretty much agree with that. The program is not at the level where they can lose 10 NFL draft picks and expect to remain at that level. I believe they are becoming that kind of program but are a few years away. Hey, FSU had won 20 regular season games in a row until today. Most programs would be very happy to accomplish that. I believe Coach Norvell and his staff will figure it out. Unfortunately, this year the margin of error just decreased quite a bit.
