Manatee 34 Buchholz (Gainesville) 27 FINAL

Dangler has an unbelievable motor. He knocked the shit out of a couple guys and didn't rap up. He looked over at the coaches and said my bad, he knows he needs to do a better job of that. When he does he is a text book tackler. He is a junior and a very strong for his size. He is 6'0 195, but plays much bigger. Last night #43 LB Caleb Matelau didn't play (ribs) so Dangler had to step up his game little bit.
Buchholz offensive line is probably the best line they will see this year during the regular season! So it was a great test for Manatee's defensively. You mentioned their QB, boy is he good. But we can't say enough about Andrew Heidel, he continues to show that he is one of, if not the best QB in our area. Next week will be another test. I love the fact that coach Green has gone out and put together a very tough schedule. It will pay off in the end.........

Manatee 34 Buchholz (Gainesville) 27 FINAL

Same here! We might not agreed over the years but we both are fans and I like hearing your thoughts and insight on the games also!
Big win for the Canes. I have to say this about the this group. They are coming together and fight to the end. I saw a group of kids really fighting for each other last night. And I think Coach Green is growing as a coach and will continue too. We got spoiled back in the days of Coach Kinnan. And everyone who has come after him has had big shoes to fill. Another test this coming week against a good IMG White team (4-0). Go Canes!!

Hardee 41 - Avon Park 7 3rd qrt

I didn't go to the game, kicking myself in the butt for not going even though I bought tickets. I thought it was going to rain looking at the radar and then I didn't sleep well at all last night and was just dog tired tonight.

Looked at maxpreps and see Hardee is up 40 to Avon Park's 7 in 3rd qrt. Would have been nice to see the game tonight. I will kick myself the rest of the week. Oh well, Hardee has a bye week and then plays Mulberry on 9/27. Hopefully by then all this rain Florida has been getting is gone...We have gotten way too much rain this past summer, way too much.

One man’s explanation of why to go see high school football

Great Article. There is NOTHING IMHO like High School Football when you sit back and compare it to other levels. I remember years ago here in Hardee everybody was at the games and nobody was home. The stadium was packed and whenever Desoto county came into town the NORTH fence line didn't even have standing room. If professional burglars only knew this they would have gotten rich during football season in Hardee.

One man’s explanation of why to go see high school football

Very nice article. Yes, I find myself going back because its a familiar place, where my sons and I played. Where we sat in the stands with Governor Bush - who promised to come watch a game (The District Title against Port Charlotte) watching our oldest. Or when they honored my wife and their mother on the first ever Breast cancer Awareness night - our youngest wearing the first pair of pink gloves we'd ever seen (He wrote "Mom" on them - ordered by a booster just for him . He caught a dart at the back of the endzone keeping a foot in for the first score against a very tough Palmetto Team wearing them and we won the District Title. And the next year Alex Mut wearing his "Mom" gloves, and Mike Bellamy and a succession of players after that with new ones, but still marked "mom." It's been a comfortable constant in my life during my early years and latter years.

One man’s explanation of why to go see high school football

Found this on another site. This article is an example of why I still enjoy going to high school football games.

Site change for Manatee @ Buchholz

Apparently the new sod at Buchholz High’s Citizens Field is not taking root so the game is being moved to Santa Fe High stadium near Alachua. There was a strong criticism by Josh Wilson on his show The North Florida Blitz last night to have Alachua County spend the money to put down field turf for all the schools in the county. I doubt this change of venue will have any effect on the game.

Lemon Bay 22 - Hardee 6

The game was rained out last night and was played this morning at 9am.

Just two-three humble opinions, defense adjusted 2nd half from what I've was told. I did send a text to the DC telling him that a 60 front between the TEs/tackles would stop Lemon Bay dead cold. I left at half time because it was just too hot sitting there and no concession stand opened to get gator aide or water so I don't know if he received it or adjusted. I was told Hardee did shutdown LB second half.

Offense looks good except for QB, IMHO it appears he is having a hard time gripping the football on the passes, may want to get a glove, I know many QBs do this for this reason.
Now, if I were Hardee and I was in charge of the Offense, I would be running the VEER, plain and simple, you have big backs mainly that 44, he is a man beast, and 45 isn't that small neither, but 44 reminds me of Gilliard 2005.

Just by this game I believe Hardee may go 6-4, which is expected. I hope they prove me wrong.

As for Lemon Bay, I LOVED the MISDIRECTION game they run. It looks like the wishbone but without the option and they use misdirection like the Wing T does without all the pulling guards.

That is just my ANALYSIS.

Keep up the great work
Good to hear LB is getting into that offense, takes time - they had a couple good looking kids when we faced them in the Classic, but they had some QB issues.

5A #1 LAKELAND DREADNAUGHTS @ 7A #2 LAKE MARY RAMS

This game turned out to be what we hoped it would be. Game was decided in the first OT when Lake Mary decided to go for 2. Noah Grubb’s pass to the back corner of the end zone sailed over the receivers head. Lakeland played this game like they weren’t giving maximum effort. Maybe they are just cool like that. Supreme confidence. Lake Mary had a chance to put the game away with a 35 yard field goal with approximately 1:30 left but the kick was wide right(dislike those 2 words together). Lakeland hit a 70 yard bomb to tie up the score with 29 seconds remaining sending the game into OT.

Now for the shameful part. The game had a 90 minute weather delay that started late in the first quarter. The super fan that I am decided to leave for home just minutes before the game restarted. I really did not think it was going to. I spoke to a few friends of mine at other games around the state that told me their games had been canceled due to weather. I make it back to Auburndale to see texts from 2 different people that the game had restarted and it was on YouTube. Now you know.

Manatee 15 Lowndes 30 Final

Was at the game. Very proud of how hard this team fault. They popped Lowndes in the mouth as hard as they have been popped up to this point!!. Questionable penalties but you’re going to get that on the road! Overall, the team played really well. Lowndes is gonna win a lot of football games in Georgia. This will go a long way toward preparing this team for postseason. Not disappointed at all! Manatee was in this game most of the night except for a 9 point swing that really hurt them. Back to work next week in preparation for a Gainesville Buchholz in Gainesville.
