Hi football Floridians,
My name is George St. Lawrence and I am the co-founder and CEO of the newly developed Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL). I just wanted to start a discussion about the unseen talent of Florida prep athletes.
My son Peter's good friend Horace Gant played with Peter for 3 years at St. Olaf College before signing with the Redskins at the start of this season. He is from Pensacola and always talks about how there isn't enough opportunity to match the amount of talent in his home state.
I have been around this game my entire life and agree with Horace in the fact that there needs to be some secondary opportunity after high school for football players to showcase their skills and be seen by college coaches and recruiters around the country. This has lead me to develop the CDFL on the grounds that is a "second chance to make a first impression."
My son and Horace were lucky to have had some contacts that pulled them into St. Olaf while they were in that "in-between" state, but what about the thousands of others out there that aren't so fortunate?
I want to talk to you about your opinions on the matter. I want to find out from you if you think Florida talent would be benefited by this opportunity, and what you think would be the best way in going about getting these kids a legitimate look.
Check out the website and the video and let me know what you think.
