One more story.....

While I was still working in Sarasota before I transfered to Athens, GA in 1993. I was working in same field (Mail Acceptance) that I ended my career with as a Manager in Atlanta ,but on a much smaller level. I got to meet and interact with a number or business professionals in Sarasota. There was a lady that I would interact with from the Sarasota Area Blood Bank, named "Devonne". I grew up fairly naive about alot, and even in my early 20's at that point remained naive about much particularly as it related to women. Devonne was HOT HOT, and for what ever reason decided I was her go to guy at the PO when ever she was there. If I wasnt immediately around she would hound the guys to go find me or just generally want to know where I was. It led to the guys...(all way older than me), to teasing me about her, normally they would start asking me questions about Devonne, that revolved around "what if" scenario type questions.

Devonne, was always on me about donating blood ecspecially when I told her I was C-. After several months I relented and decided one day on my lunch break to go head down to the blood bank and donate blood. The staff there asked a number of questions about my personal health, but also wanted to know whhat prompted me to come donate and I responded by letting them know Devoone had convinced me to. At this point Im all hooked up, in a semi laying down position and I guess one of the staff had let Devonne know I was there. She was out in a flash, and immediately concerned I wasnt eating or drinking anything while I was donating my blood. She offered to go get some juice and essance stay with me to hold my hand until the process was complete. She comes back with some orange juice and jumps up on the thing I was semi laying on and insist we toast to the ocassion! I didnt drink...stilll dont and had never toasted anything, so she says I'll do it. So she begins with a "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if Rock Hudson had stuck to P**y, he wouldn't be dead!" I literrially spit the orange juice I had in my mouth out all over myself. I had never had or heard a woman talk to me in such a manner, she just giggled and ran to get something to clean me up. She eventually married a building contractor and started having kids, and I saw very little of her after that. But during this time of her always teasing me, Robert Palmer came out with his video "Addicted to Love", my jaw dropped the 1st time I saw it, I swear the lady playing a guitar to Palmer's left in the video looked exactly like Devonne.....anytime I see the video I immediately thinkk of Devonne!

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Newsome quarterback Noah Guenther
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our high school football season wasn’t everything that we had hoped for record-wise. We finished 2-8 with a very long and tough schedule. Even though we didn’t accomplish every goal we still made progress and became better every week. I was able to put up good stats which will hopefully help me and my recruiting this off season.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I’m planning on working out and exercising every single day whether it be weight lifting, speed training, or throwing sessions. The ultimate goal is to get better every single day. I’m also going to run track to help with speed and endurance.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe our team can do great next season. We have a lot of key returning players that had great seasons this year and they are getting better every single day. We will also have guys that are going to have to step up and contribute to the team, but I trust that they are ready to play and make us a great team.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“With the new districts being drawn up I know that we will be playing teams such as Plant City, Sumner, Strawberry Crest, and Alonso. Out of these teams, I think Sumner and Plant City will give us great fights. Both teams are well coached and have great players. Newsome is excited to play them and prove ourselves.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Out of the teams I for sure know that we are playing, there are multiple athletes that I could say are the best players. Chris Denson from Plant City is a great player as well as Tyler Williams from Sumner. Every team we are playing will have great players that will give us some troubles. We respect them but we are not scared of the competition.”

6.) The individual selecting the largest number of correct winners over the duration of the playoffs, will be declared the Florida Varsity Pickem Champ for 2023!

FHSAA approves new football classifications

Which are very similar to the previous system. The FHSAA Board of Directors voted 9-4 for the 2024-2025 season. There will be eight classifications (Rural and 1A-7A). The board approved required district play for the upcoming season. More fair and competitive competition was cited in one article for the reasons for the change.

The “Open Division” proposal was not voted on. This idea is to have top teams pulled out of respective classification’s tournaments with a winner-take-all tourney of Florida’s top teams.

I took this from a couple of reports. I could not find anything about the results from the FHSAA on their website at this time. The FHSAA front page has a statement that yesterday’s meeting of the Board of Directors meeting was to take place.

All 9 State Title Games will be televised
