I will add more later, but just to put something to build from later this weekend, I believe this classification has at least one team from each region that could win the state title and would not be surprised at all to see all 4 #1 seeds in the semis. Will add more this weekend.

I agree with you Gatorman. Almost every 2nd round 2A game sparks some interest. Every class should look this competitive. There are plenty of teams that have legitimate claims to go at least a couple more rounds. If I could only watch one class from start to finish it would probably be 2A. Class 5A would be a close second but mostly from the regional final on. That’s where the most games with powerhouse teams are likely to occur.

Region 1 - I see a Gasden County vs Bolles final and see Bolles pulling the seed wise upset to take the Region 1 title

Region 2 - I see a Cocoa vs Bradford final. I got to see Cocoa go toe to toe with Venice HS during the regular season, if not for some questionable official calls, particularly on the last Vencie drive for the game winning FG Cocoa wins that game. I like Cocoa alot, but I also think Bradford and Newberry are legit and this should be a "MUST SEE" region final. Cocoa has to be the more battle tested team in my mind, and I expect this to be a great game......Im going to stick with Cocoa to come out with the Region 2 title, but boy what a Region final will it be!

Region 3 - Its a shame Cardinal Mooney wasn't actually tested once during the regular season, they started slow a couple of games but by the end of each of those games Mooney basically ran away with those contest! I see a Mooney/Bishop Verot Region final. When these 2 met during the regular season Mooney won 49-28. I can see where Verot might make this game closer this time, but in the end Im going to go with Mooney to pull out the win and take the Region title.

Region 4 - I see Booker T Washington taking the Region title

Region finals and State Finalist - My heart says I'd love to see a Mooney vs Cocoa state final, but I can see see where Booker T and/or Bolles could pull a upset because of their pedigree. Again if its Mooney and Cocoa to its a state final that will be must see football.....Cocoa probably has the star talent, but I feel Mooney is the more complete built team and I feel it has the physicality on offense to play a offensive style to slow this game down and dominate between the tackles. I believe Mooney has the more complete team to at least slow this Cocoa offense down......not stop it but make key stops here and there. If it these 2 teams in the final, I'll be in the car to make the trip to see this one played..... Im going with Mooney to make a repeat title win!

Still one of the most competitive and interesting classes. I’m not sure how good Miami Booker T. Washington is this year but of course the program has championship pedigree. Has Cocoa finally figured out their championship formula for this year? The Tigers have top flight future college players as usual on this team but haven’t always played like it. Do we really know how good Cardinal Mooney is playing one of the weaker schedules? They get a Bishop Verot rematch. Verot is probably the only team that would beat them(sorry Rams). Then we have Gadsen County that has been attracting talent to their program for years now. Bolles has only lost to Raines but they dodged a bullet when their game against St. Augustine was canceled because of weather.

Mooney will have to play their best game this Friday. Cocoa is a really good team who only lost to Venice 54-51. I am rooting for Mooney but I see them losing by 21 points. I just don't think they have enough to complete with a stacked team such as Cocoa.

I watched Cocoa against Venice, at the point Wilder was out of the game....Venice went almost exclusively to running between the tackles on Cocoa with the Soph running back and was very successful with it. Venice on defense also had numerous breakdowns in coverage. It wasn't until the last drive where Venice kicked the winning FG, that they went back to its passing game. I mention all that because only because I believe Mooney is uniquely equipped to run between the tackles on Cocoa, which to me if they can will keep Cocoa(s) offense off the field. Don't underestimate the ability of the Mooney DBs either.......Mooney has a couple of extremely talented dbs. We will see what happens, I just feel what Mooney brings to the table, is ideal for Mooney to win this contest.

I attended Miami Norland @ Cocoa. Norland won 33-14. It was played 2 weeks after the Cocoa @ Venice game. Cocoa had a bye week between the games. After Cocoa drove straight down the field for an easy TD, Norland controlled both lines of scrimmage from then on. Norland’s QB played very well in the first half leading the Vikings to a 21-7 halftime lead. It was a masterpiece performance by Norland after Cocoa’s TD until halftime. I would guess that Norland knew they would continue to control the line of scrimmage so they were less aggressive in the 2nd half. They moved the ball some but they were running clock. It worked. Cocoa may have been flat. Heard the Cocoa fans after the game saying that the Norland kids were just tougher than the Cocoa kids. The good news is Cocoa has been on a tear since that game. You could counter the competition hasn’t been tough.

Wanted to add 1 more thing: While Boggs at WR gets all the headlines for Cocoa, little #3 (Teeter) is a helluva good WR as well for Cocoa! He runs excellent routes, seems always to be open, and catches almost everything thrown his way!

You are correct, sir. Teeter was QB Brady Hart’s go to man. Caught the most passes against Norland. Working class type of receiver. 24/7 site has him committed to USF.
