Charlotte 31-0 North Port

Wet field, slow start. 7-0 at half, and Tarps ran back the 2nd half KO 99 yards. Developing team on Offense, need to start scoring in red zone as competition gets better. But the defense has been playing lights out as they should against the caliber teams we've faced so far. They blocked a punt for a score.

North Port, like Lemon Bay dropped Charlotte because of the lopsided scores, that again weren't doing anybody any good. My youngest son's team put 41 points on them first quarter, and scored a program record 69 points after our backup QB transferred there and said he was going to show charlotte why he should have been the starter.

Hardee 28-Ft Meade 20

I didn't get to make it to the game my dad had some issues that day that needed attention. He is a Covid vaccine injury recipient that I tried warning ppl not to get. Older folks are just stubborn and like my dad many of these Covid vaccine recipients they are now blind or going blind, many are deceased. Stay away from these awful evil vaccines!!! You are going to learn more and the full truth about these vaccines starting 2025 and how they damage our bodies just for a profit!!

From what I've heard Hardee's defense is very aggressive, something we haven't seen in sometime and Hardee is back running the ball like the old days. This just might give Hardee an advantage because if players are so use to the run' shoot or spread offense.
Hopefully I won't miss Hardee @ Frostproof this week!!

I am doing good since having neck surgery, 50% of the overall pain is gone, now it's in my lumbar and legs which is from retrolithesis which is opposite of spondylolithesis (slip disc) but it's manageable vs the cervical headaches and shooting arm pain.

I've been thinking of coming out of retirement and going back to work. I use to work in information technology but I've lost all that knowledge so I am truly thinking of completing my 4 years of college (only have 60 credits left) but convert it to become a school teacher, preferably high school history or a conspiracy class. These kids need our help, mainly from us veterans who understands what's going on in our country!! So I am going to give it some more thought and decide in the coming months.

Good thing is I am now down to 215 lbs whereas I was stuck at 240 lbs for years due to not being able to exercise or get outside. Now I get outside sweat something crazy losing all that water. Ppl will be shocked to see I've lost 25 lbs since January. My goal is to hit 200 by December 31.

On the bad side my wife is now going through the same awful stuff I did in her neck and neurosurgeon said she needs surgery. She worked in daycare for 25 years, picking up those kids and working on concrete, two combinations that's not good for the spine. I've studied the spine in great detail since 2012 I may go to school for something that deals with the spine. I may be dead by the time I finish schooling if I go that route, LoL. Our local Judge talked to me about going to college to become an attorney because I embarrassed an attorney in court about 7 years ago and won 2 cases that was against me, they were debt collections and if people only knew the truth about these vultures. All this occurred because I went out on medical retirement and decided the most important bills to pay and what not to pay. They are vultures and once you understand the laws you will find out those collection agencies actually don't own the contract to anything.

I rather help these kids they truly need help!!

Sorry for the life bio but wanted to keep ppl updated since it was a few on here who persuaded me to see a neurosurgeon in Pt Charlotte who just retired on June 30!! I am lucky he was the best around. I woke up from surgery on March 31, 2023 and began crying because if ppl only knew the pain we go through as the pain was finally gone!! It was like a ton of stress was lifted from my upper body.

Anyway have fun, it's just a game, a sport, this is what it's about, to have fun and help these young men mature.

God Bless..,

Going to my first SSAA game Friday

Will be attending Umatilla @ Mount Dora Christian tomorrow night. Umatilla left the FHSAA 2S from last year to enter the Sunshine State Athletic Association(formerly the SSAC). Mount Dora Christian is already a member winning the 2023 5A state title classification .

Frostproof joined Umatilla along with a couple of other schools that left the FHSAA to enter the SSAA this season. Former FHSAA state champs Glades Day and American Heritage Del Ray are members. Why are these schools leaving the FHSAA? Some express disappointment with the strong programs getting stronger so it was impossible to win a state title(see Chaminade Madonna) and were looking for a more level playing field. Another reason is they are looking for a more positive experience for their athletes.

One reason I’m taking this opportunity to go to this game is because I did not see a matchup in the FHSAA that got me excited enough to go to. Looking at the Google map quest the Mount Dora Christian’s stadium looks better than many FHSAA schools.

Manatee 41 Southeast 0 FINAL

Laz has Manatee as a 30 point favorite for this contest, Im not so sure however its going to be a 30 point victory margin for Manatee. Going to raise the hair on the back of few's neck, but I believe currently Curt Bradley is the best football coach in Manatee County. I believe in time Bradley could have Southeast back being a prominent power in the Manatee/Sarasota County football scene. Southeast last week did what it should have against Brooksville Central, in that the game was basically over at the end of the 1st QT. I've watched a number of games when Bradley was at Braden River, and always I liked each time how he game planned for Manatee, as well as his in game awareness. Bradley just lacked last year having the athletes to compete with Manatee, I cant help but think at Southeast, he might be in a better position to do this compounded with the Southeast players having the benefit of getting better coaching!

I believe Southeast makes Manatee sweat this one out to the end of the 4th QT. Im taking Southeast and the 30 points.....Manatee 27 Southeast 24.

Lake Minneola 19 Manatee 57 Final

This one when it was originally on the schedule, had all the markings of being a classic opener for both teams. Minneola had 4 of it 5 starting OL coming back 2 of which were highly ranked, its RB, a couple of WR's that had seen sginificant playing time and highly touted junior QB that would have been its starter. All of that is gone. The long time head coach at Lake Minneola was let go, his replacement left after aprox 5 days on the job and then there was massive defections from the team.......in fact Lake Minneola cancelled its spring football because things were in such disarray. Lake Minneola lost its classic game to LandOLakes 19-12 last Friday.

I see Laz has Lake Minneola as a +4 favorite, but his ratings at this point are based largely on prior year performances. I see this game looking a whole lot like last week's classic game against Hillsborough HS, it that the Manatee coaches should have every opportunity to empty its bench and play its reserves. at this point

I dont see Manatee really being challenged at all leading up to its trip to Lowndes County, GA week 3 of the regular season. Have lots of questions about the Manatee offense, and it not really seeing worthy competition leading up to that week 3 game cant be good. Manatee has talented WR's but I've noted before when defensive teams that have atheltic DB's match up with tight Man coverage, the Manatee WR's struggle with getting open. I dont see Manatee's little RB's being able to consistantly do much between the tackles against a good defense and of course the young OL to me is a good year away from being capable of being a force physically........this would have been a great game to get a accurate measurement on where Manatee is really at and make adjustments as necessary heading into the meat of its schedule............now however due to the circumstances not so much.

Mark Cannon, your thoughts on the FSU game?

I checked going back to 2021 and Georgia Tech never recruited better than the 40's, from a team ranking standpoint. That last FSU drive for the tying TD, Norvell went for it on 4th and long twice, both times I believe FSU was in FG range. You think Norvell didnt have confidence in his defense to stop Tech to get the ball back and is why he went for both times? I've said it before, I refer dominating at the line of scrimmage so I like the style of offense Tech was running. I mentioned to you the other day, Tech has stood out to me thus far with the way they've recruited so far for the 2025 cycle.

What game are we going to this weekend (8/23)

This will be a big weekend for high school football on ESPN. The ESPN Broward National Football Showcase will be at Brian Piccolo Stadium on the campus of St. Thomas Aquinas. It will include three games with Florida teams against out-of-state powerhouses. This showcase is being deemed as very early mythical high school national championship games. Here is the lineup:

Friday 7pm: Milton (Georgia) vs American Heritage Plantation on ESPN

Saturday 4pm: Bishop Gorman (Nevada) vs St Thomas Aquinas on ESPN

Saturday 8pm: St Don Bosco (California) vs Chaminade Madonna on ESPN2

I settled on Berkeley Prep @ Clearwater Central Catholic Friday night. I knew this was the big game of the week in the Tampa Bay Area but originally decided not to because the place is going to be a zoo with an overflow crowd. Armwood @ Gaither was the choice earlier in the week but I could. in the end, not attend a game with a last year’s state champion vs a last year’s state finalist. I’ve been to CCC three times the last 2 years. I’m going again. Maybe I should go ahead and buy a CCC shirt.

What game are you going to this weekend?

Play you don't see much in high school, last night.

After a rain delay, the wind picked up and was gusty: NE to 18 knots. Tarpons are punting to Gulf Cove from our 35 or so (south end of field). From my vantage point, the ball either went straight up or got partially blocked. There's a scrum around the ball that hasn't passed the line of scrimmage. Out comes one of our skills with the ball, breaks a few tackles, and returns it.

We must have had 150 yards of offense driving the field the first two drives with no points, and it was 6-0 Gulf Coast before their O was on the field and had a single yard. They blocked a FG and ran it back. Tarps won 27-6.

The Tarpons came out in black jerseys—a first. I'm kind of a last-century guy, so I'm not going to comment on how I feel about that on here.

Clearwater Central Catholic 28 Berkeley Prep 14

CCC was the better team last night but Berkeley’s sophomore QB Cooper Hayes went out in the middle of the 2nd half for about 8 minutes that certainly hurt their momentum. CCC was the more consistent team throughout the game. The Marauders took a 14-0 lead before Berkeley finally scored at the end of the first half on a beautiful TD pass to the back corner of the end zone.

CCC ‘s four year starting QB, Jershaun Newton, an Illinois commit, once again showed his talents mostly passing with some running. Of course, he is the last of 5 brothers to star for CCC. One of Newton’s older brothers, Jer’Zhan, was drafted with the 36th pick in the second round this year by the Washington Commanders.

Sean Cuono, a senior RB, a transfer from Calvary Christian who is committed to Indiana almost rushed for a 100 yards scored the first TD for CCC. He’s a tough runner that shed many tacklers that weren’t strong enough to take him down.

CCC has its usual swarming run to the ball defense. They arrive at the ballcarriers like crazed maniacs. This Marauders team is much like last year except the receivers appear to be a little pedestrian compared to last year.

Berkeley was a little slow getting up to speed for most of the first half. Notre Dame commit, Dallas Golden, got loose after a catch in the first quarter when the DB slipped down. He looked like he was headed for pay dirt but was run down and tackled inside the 10. Two plays later Golden fumbled from a Wildcat formation which CCC recovered. The Buccaneers went to Golden often in this game. He is talented but I did not see an elite performance last night.

We were fortunate not to experience any rain like the rest of most of Florida. There was a lot of cramping by both teams all night.
