Pensacola HS

Wow, I'm surprised. Are all his kids through school now? Is he going elsewhere are just retiring? He's not that old.

"I've had a great time coaching these last 18 years, but tonight is it," said Bennett to his current football players and their family members. "I'm gonna move up, but not out. I'll still be at Pensacola High…just as the athletic director next year " Bennett said."Saturdays after a game, I used to wake up at 8 or 9 a.m. - now I get up at noon," said Bennett with a laugh. "My son is playing baseball at (Florida) Gulf Coast (University). Now, I can get out there on Friday and go watch him. My daughter is having a daughter soon - my first grandchild. I'm gonna be able to get up to Tennessee and spend time with my daughter that I didn't get to back when she was in high school.

Great reasons to give up the coaching grind! Also, I'm glad he's staying in the program. I forgot that Escambia schools do not hire AD/football coaches. They are still two separate positions.
