O.T. Shout out to the Class 3A -Region 2 Track Champions : Daytona Mainland

Thanks to the tireless effort of the Mainland coaching staff ( Terry Anthony-Mainland/FSU/Tampa Bay, Vernon Conaway-Mainland/retired Major US Army, AJ Mallory-Mainland/B-CU, and field coach????) the boys Track and Field team had it's most successful season in my swiftly diminishing memory. Today's 16+ hour affair( bus ride meet, bus ride ) is parr for the course when it comes to high school track meets. It's a labor of love for these EX-Buccaneers who give so much back to their alma mater with very,very little monetary compensation. But when, on the final event, both the girls and boys 4x400m teams smoked the field with relative ease, their joy said it all. No amount of money could have added anything to it. They took this group of good hard working kids much further then anyone expected. I'm not ashamed to say I teared up a little bit. Man it's great to be a Mainland Buccaneer this morning...Buc Forever
