The FHSSA are suspending Head Coach for providing benefits to players that weren’t enrolled at the school when they were provided. Head Coach Jeff Conaway will include a penalty that is similar to Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh when the Wolverine’s were found violating spying rules on other teams. Conaway will be suspended for a year will be allowed to perform all his duties except he will not be allowed to coach at the games. First Academy will have to pay $36,000 in fines. TFA welcomed over 30 transfers which included players from Lake Minneola, a program that was going through some turmoil when their head coach left unexpectedly. I don’t have an actual breakdown of where all the transfers came from. The Leesburg Head Coach, Stephen Moffet, who you might remember as a former UCF starting QB, joined the TFA staff last year. Coach Moffet is already serving a 1 year suspension. Moffet supposedly provided the smoking gun for providing benefits that violated FHSAA rules. His suspension began in late October so he can resume coaching in late October. TFA was undefeated when the violations occurred making them unable to make the playoffs.
