Coach Green has set up the 2025 schedule that is rather ambitious. Manatee had a good number of players graduating from last year so unless he gets some good transfers to come in with what he has returning this could be a rough experience. What do you think? Does this schedule attract players to Manatee? My guess is he hopes so.

Well, the only other area school to put out a better schedule is probably Venice. Like Mark saiduntil we know more about the transfers, it's hard to really evaluate Manatee. ST John's I've seen a couple of times...,(including last year), and I see Manatee getting blown out in that one. Lowndes with Manatee's defense of last year, was two evenly matched ball clubs. Lowndes got blown out in the 2nd round of the GA playoffs last year..(I want to say 42-7 at Burford), depending on what Manatee's talent base is....I could see this one getting ugly for Manatee as well. Buchholz should be a handful for Manatee as well, as Manatee was able to pull that game out late in last years contest with a strong second half, filled a number of big plays going Manatee's way. The rest of the regular season is okay and very winnable games...disappointed no Venice or Cardnial Mooney.

What if it has the opposite effect and players transfer out? :D I don't see that happening but anything is possible.

My read on the pulse of Manatee County Football is that Coach Green has become the guy kids generally want to play for in Manatee County. That Manatee defense last season was assembled primarily via transfers. The guys that were already there were all above average talent as well....it turned into one of the better over-all defenses Manatee has had going back to 1974. I kid you not, had K Smith not injured his elbow, the STA game could have very easily had a different outcome. Losing K Smith in he second half of that game, took a major part of the Manatee offense away. Even then, Manatee had a drive going late in the 4th Qt and should have had 1st and 10 at the STA 15, if not for a penalty I still havent found anyone tha could explain it.....I know one video you could hear someone say, "they werent set" but watching the video it appears everyone was.....so I dont know? Manatee wouldnt have been the same team offensively had it won for the championship game anyways, wihout K Smith

I just don't see how Manatee next season will be able to match up talent wise, even with potenial transfers when compared to last season's defense. The kid they'll have at MLB is one helluva MLB, he dictates things with his intensity and physicality....other than that Manatee starts the season with a clean slate defensively talent wise. Offensive they'll have most of the OL coming back amd it's a big bunch. Other than that every position will be open to spring competition. There's some promising talent....a rising soph and freshman tb , both saw significant playing time last yer. All the wr's.will be new and the QB will be new. I say all that not having a clue what kind of transfer talent will be coming in at this point. If Green pulls off what he did last year....who knows....but as of right now, I just don't see him being able to put together something that tops last year's team....transfers or not.

Was thinking more about the ST John Bossco game, and since the game is apparenty being played at Manatee......I focused on finances. Manatee doesnt put enough asses in seats anymore, to supplement the cost involved with helping defer those cost involved with bringing a team from CA into Bradenton. Im going to specualte at this point, but its leads me to wonder if a certain law firm in Bradenton has stepped in to help financially. Also one of the lawyers working at this law firm, has a son that plays QB. I personally dont feel this young man even come close to matching the talent base of last years starting QB, and had hoped Green would lean to the kid with a "Sanders" last name to be next year's QB. The Sanders kids is way more atheletic and would be a Soph next season, and I believe is more talented....granted at his point I'd deem it more raw potential then anything else. Wondering now if the decision for who the staring QB will be next year at Manatee, hasn in fact already been made for the coaching staff? Bottom line with or without transfer being part of the equation, I felt Manatee was probably 2 years away from being able to match the success from this past season. No reason why Manatee didnt make every effort to get Cardnial Mooney and Venice on the schedule this season, yet neither team is?

I saw on the other board where the general consensus was, putting St John's on the schedule was a means to lure talent to Manatee in as far as transfers were concerned. I wouldn't rule that mindset out completely either. St John's was incredibly young team last year, only losing twice to Mater Dei last year. This if the roster remains relatively intact, should be a even better team than it was last year!

Update:

* Logan Rogers - QB appears to have transfered into Manatee, has played at Tampa Bay Tech and Hillsbourgh HS previously 6'3" 210lbs
* Luke Newell - OL appears to have transfered into Manaee, was enrolled previously at Tampa Plant HS

A really tough schedule and a reloading year can be positive, but not so much during a rebuilding year; it can have an adverse effect. Today's athletes are conditioned for that, so it can become one of many factors to simply bail.

1. I think Manatee will get enough transfers to make a post season run.
2. As far as the schedule, I think they lose the Bucholz, St. Johns, Lowdnes, but play good enough to learn from the loss but the other games should be a cake walk. I would love for them to play CM or Venice too.
3. Playing Booker is a good local game, and I think they will win a close game. Booker will be loaded up pretty good this year, but I think Manatee has the better overall coaching staff.
4. Coach Green is definitely headed in the right direction.
