Obviously, I have too much time on my hands, but I looked at Palmetto High Tigers and Tampa Jefferson. Palmetto was 5-5 in 2023 and went 9-2 this season due to scheduling. They kept Riverview, Manatee, and Lakewood Ranch on their schedule, and replaced the other 7 teams with other teams on their level of competition

Tampa Jefferson went 1-9 in 2023 and finished 11-1 this season including an undefeated regular season. They also kept 3 teams from their previous schedule and replaced the other 7 teams.

In the era of recruiting, school choice, nil etc., schools need to schedule teams that are on their level. Wins is the best way to recruit and retain players in my personal opinion.

I hear you...and from a foundation standpoint I agree completely. The Palmetto schedule was largrly impacted by it's new district, as well as moving to 6A. As well as the coaching staff doing one helluva job, bringing together a squad hit heavily by transfers of some it's plus talent! The schedule on paper going into the season, was in my mind a moderately strong one...in hindsight however maybe not as sound as it appeared before the start of the season.
