OT: SK, Another One Bites The Dust!

I met him in 1987 at a gig my boss held for famous Michiganders up in Drummond Island.

I was giving him a tour of our yachts - he was really interested in a 1947 classic 82-foot 1947 Luders we restored, gorgeous yacht (black hull, sea mist green cabin tops and varnished mahogany topsides).

Then the group was called up for an event just as I was just getting ready to ask about how he came up with the line in Beautiful Loser: "He wants his home and his family, he wants to live like a sailor at sea."

It was timely for me, because I had my first kid, and was starting to realize being a semi-nomadic sea gypsy wasn't going to make momma very happy long term, even though the pay checks were short term. We worked in two more babies in the next 4 years before it worked out like it was supposed to...
