March 11th came and went and these were the only two Florida cities to place a bid ( WHAT ??? INCREDIBLE!!!) on a new three year contract to host the FHSAA state football championships ( Daytona Beach News- Journal ). The decision will be announced no later then April 1. The FHSAA and April Fools Day, how ironic :) The host city has the option to play the 8 games over two weekends- Dec 2-3 ; Dec 9-10, or all games on one weekend- Dec 8-10. From past experience that second option was a traffic nightmare on Daytona's two lane LPGA Blvd. The stadium can only be entered and exited by this narrow road. Back to back games are damn near impossible to get in and out. All eating establishments are miles away. Better pack a lunch if Daytona and option two wins out.

Dan,

It will most likely be Orlando again.

The reason those are the only 2 to apply is because the FHSAA wants WAAAYYY too much for little reward. Its not really a revenue generator for these venues and they are more so hoping to break even.

As for having a all day pass at a reduced price that is not up to the venue that is up to the FHSAA. So you know where that is going.

If its in Daytona we can hold the Epic 40 yard dash/Donnybrook there so Danny doesn't have to travel

Wave said he'll be sure to fly Neutral there but everyone needs to understand, all the side action has to go through him, no outside betting. He'll have the bets up soon. A few he told me about

1) First pulled hammie
2) 3 Scratches (Over/under)
3) Beers actually replace fists
4) If 2nd Jambun shows up in a WWE Rey Mysterio costume
5) If 2nd Pookie Colatie shows up in a WWF Booker T costume
6) If that cat from Miami Killian jumps on a Greyhound, shows up and beats everybody's asses

If SK thinkin Nu'Trelle gonna run some 40's on his replaced knees, then SK gotta have his lips wrapped around that damn crack pipe again.

Peezy, I think you're right . The Central Florida Sports Commission doesn't miss out on many events they seriously go after. No way can Daytona offer as much($$$) as O-Town. That being said, the FHSAA is on record as saying the highest bid doesn't insure acceptance of that offer. Other variables come in to play besides the dollar amount. In fact just a year or two ago Osceola County's bid to host the state basketball championships contained a larger amount of money then the eventual long time host Lakeland. Either way we should all know in a couple weeks.
