My favorite.
Quite honestly, Woody Hayes may have been one of the poorest losers ever to coach major college football. The guy hated to lose ... couldn't stand it.

I didn't know John McKay was so quotable!

McKay would occasionally do a guest appearance on late nite TV and was great at delivering zingers with a completely straight face. Think of Bob Uecker, only even better. McKay had Johnny Carson rolling on the floor more than once . We're talking about Carson losing things completely - and McKay wouldn't even crack a smile, he just sat there and stared at Carson like he (Carson) was nuts. You may be able to find a few clips on you tube if you Google things.

Since I'm not as old as you, Neutral, any appearance on Carson would have been past my bedtime. I will look him up online. I love a coach with a sense of humor!

On running up the score:

"it's not up to me to stop my team from scoring. It's up to the opposing team to stop my team from scoring"
