The Rams of Lake Mary took the opening kickoff and went right down the field, scoring easily. Mainland then put up the next 29 straight pts. in a contest that wasn't as close as the final score indicates. Mainland's passing game just continued what it has done throughout the summer season of 7 on 7 ball. Opponents better have first rate athletes in the defensive backfield or these Buccaneers from Daytona are going to burn the scoreboard up. Lake Mary was most definitely down from when Mainland played them two years ago. Time will tell how things work out over there for the Rams. Mainland's run defense is a little behind at this early stage, but clearly they have enough potential to follow in the footsteps of the many great run stopping teams Mainland has produce over the last 20 years or so. Great way to end preseason on a roll. Opener next week at Deland. Hope they improved ( not really ) , or they'll lose by fifty.

You should put close to that on them. We were 6-7 for 140+ and 2 TD's if that's any indicator. Congrats on the win! Looks like another good year is in store for your Bucs!!

Oh great.

Mainland's strength is their passing game, and Cocoa's weakness is their passing defense.

Should be interesting.

Cat, you know it will be big when the Tigers and Bucs finally hook up on the 7th of October down there. It's way-way over do for this one to happen during the regular season. There is however much time and circumstance between now and then. Both will be ready. The long time coaching staffs won't settle for anything else. Two similar successful programs with mirror image athletes coming from mirror image backgrounds. 67 miles separate the two schools. But in reality they're much closer then that.

Totally agree Dan, It was supposed to happen last year, but you guys were really screwed over in Ohio instead.
It's a go... Should be a great turn out. Baby steps for Cocoa until then though. TCA and Gorman are gonna be extremely hard games for the Tigers. Viera came in with some transfers this year so they look good also. Could give Lakeland, and Columbia a tough game if they make it to the 3rd and 4th rounds again. Cocoa vs Viera could also be a good game, we need all the tough ones we can get before the playoffs, even if we lose 3 or, gag, 4.

I always root for Cocoa. They never take the easy schedule route to the playoffs. Still believe they were best in state a few years back. Odom started the turn around and Wilkes improved upon it. Best to you and the Tigers.
