On this chilly Friday night the South Lake Eagles went down in flames to a much more powerful opponent. They were game, but Mainland exerted its will on both sides of the ball and cruised, with a running clock, on to the second round of the playoffs. The Eagles of Orlando Edgewater come over next Friday hoping for a better result. This homer thinks they won't get what they are looking for. These veteran Bucs have been down this playoff road before. No way are they stopping now. 11 down 4 to go..

Edgewater will perform a little better. But they don't have enough to beat Mainland. I expect something in the order of: Mainland 42 Edgewater 17. Mainland will get its first test when Miami Central comes to town. If they pass that one, then Mainland will be king. I should make that game as Apopka probably goes down to a more potent West Orange next week.

Apopka is the one that always catches me thinking they won't make it out of the 2nd round, only to surprise me by going deep.
