we went independent last year. 2023 was a horrible season.
we were supposed to play Anclote and Central but the coaches at Boca Ciega and Gibbs (at the time) had the county AD change our schedule to play them. Countryside got a new coach so they might be improved. Pinellas County has some crabs in the bucket mentality. they honestly need to worry their house. Seminole and Dunedin got new coaches. Probably Gibbs, BCHS and Dunedin for top 3. Countryside coach is with the 813hawks elite 7v7 team so you never know who they might pull in.
coach stokes does a great job of creating positive energy and knows what it takes to turn around losing programs. he turned Bloomingdale into a winner.
DH is independent so most teams they play are apples to apples
no transfers to speak of but freshman are coming home instead of being cherry picked out. the previous HC did a poor job of player retention.
The temperature is positive but changing culture is typically a three year process and coach stokes got a late start getting his staff in place before 2023 so it looks like a 4 year process even through this is year 3 but he knows what it takes to bring success. no one will out work DH and look for them to be very active in camps, combines, clinics and 7v7 tournaments this summer.
