Slow news day apparently.

Just saw on the noon news that new Buccaneer QB Tom Brady was cited for working out in a Tampa area park which was closed due to the corona virus lock down. Pretty sure the citation was the equivalent of a parking ticket, thus the fine should create very little hardship for the Brady family.

No word on whether any of Manatee County's high schools made any attempt to recruit Brady as he worked out.

School officials in Immokalee have already gone on record that they will make no attempt to approach the 42 year old NFL star, citing the fact that they still have a bad taste in their mouth after being caught a few years ago with a 29 year old place kicker on their roster.

Big Wheel keeps on turnin'.

Rumor was, the head coaches from Manatee HS, Palmetto HS and Lakewood Ranch were on there way there, when Hillsborough LE stopped Brady for questioning The intent was to have Brady do an instructional video for the coaches, players presently at the 3 schools, as well as future players potentially interested in attending one of the 3 schools, once they completed their elementary/middle school education......... The Manatee County AD was alerted by un-named sources, that the event was going to take place and is thought to be the reason why Hillsborough LE showed up.

The young students (aka - future players), which ranged in ages from 8 - 13 were apparently from a school, that recently filed suit against the Manatee County School Board for having its charter revoked. While the Manatee County School Board has publicly stated the reasons why the charter was revoked, officials from the school, Palmetto community leaders as well as several 501c-3 non-profit organizations however feel the revoking of its charter lacked substance, appears to have undertones of racial discrimination, as well as denied school officials of their due process rights.

Additionally the Manatee County AD felt because this scheduled event was centered around Brady, a pro player with an established history with cheating with his prior professional team. Manatee County AD was rumored to have self reported to the FHSAA, as he was confident despite the event being promo'd as a football instructional event, that each of the 3 head coaches where going there to actually learn the benefits of adjusting football air pressure as well as in game camera placement, and finally recruit the group of 8 - 13 year old's to play football at each coach's respective school.........to say nothing of the audacity of the 3 coaches to host this group of youths from a school currently at legal WAR with the Manatee County School Board.

As more details of fines and/or suspensions come forward, I'll do my best to make sure to report what I learn here at FloridaVarsity!

Go Canes Go!

Lotsa people in Immokalee are still upset about their undefeated team getting caught with a 29 year old placekicker. Allegedly, the team had three other placekickers who were almost as good. Two of them were 28 and the third was 26. But all three had better "paperwork", nomsayin?
