Apopka wins 8A title

What a year for the Apopka Blue Darters. After finishing the regular season out of the top25, they won the 8A state title 30-23 over Columbus. They are a perfect example of a team getting hot at the right time.

Congrats to the Blue Darters! Nice to see a local team win one and have a great turnout!

CFLA was deep this year... Lost to Oak Ridge on 2 Nyqwan Murray TDs very late... lost to Edgewater 46-42 (EW gave Mainland a game)... lost to Plantation American Heritage close... then there's West Orange (which was an excellent team), which APK avenged 42-0.

I believe three Orlando-area 8A teams could have beaten Columbus.
