Some random as well as initial thoughts -

* 6 of the top 10 schools are private school's
* 5 of the top 6 schools are private school's
* There sits Lakeland in the top 10, find me another Polk County school of note? As Ross Perot once said, (That giant sucking sound you hear, is Lakeland sucking Polk County dry of all its talent)

Sorry for just responding. It took me 3 days to stop laughing at your posts. Laz provided the information free of charge and all you had to do was stick to the facts. Instead, you set the criteria akin to creating your own open book test and STILL managed to fail for the entire board to see. Let's go....

The topic being discussed was the centralization of talent, and the laz spreadsheet illustrates that rather clearly....no hate or envy....when it was Joe and Bill at the helm, go check your records Joe owned Lakeland

Yes, Lakeland took quite a few licks from Manatee and some I happened to be a part of in '91 & '92 back when Tommie Frazier suited up. The Canes were certainly Lakeland's Achilles Heel back in the day but we managed to snag a few in the series.

There are 7 private schools in the top 10, not 6. It's a simple mistake to make but you might want to edit that as it may lead people to think that you don't know what you're talking about.

Lakeland sits in the top 10 but then you went on to say, "find me another Polk County school of note". Do you mean the other Polk schools that made Laz' list? Do you mean the other Polk schools that have a better resume than Manatee's 2nd best program, Southeast? Or, are you simply referring to the Polk County schools that have managed to perform since, I'll say Manatee's last title in 2011? All 3 of my questions yield different results but I do want to give Manatee County the best possible advantage when compared to Polk. 2011 is a good starting point, right?

Below are the teams using Laz' list and cross-referenced with the FHSAA records starting in 2011 based on Title (*), Runner-up (**) and semifinal loss including the year for accuracy.

Manatee County
-------------------
2011 - *Manatee 5
2011 - Palmetto 1
2012 - Manatee 1
2014 - Manatee 1
2019 - Palmetto 1
2020 - Palmetto 1
2024 - Manatee 1

Polk County
-------------------
2012 - Lakeland 1
2013 - Lake Wales 1
2013 - Victory Christian 1
2014 - *Victory Christian 5
2016 - **Lake Gibson 2
2018 - *Lakeland 5
2018 - Victory Christian 1
2019 - Lakeland Christian 1
2019 - Victory Christian 1
2021 - Lake Gibson 1
2021 - Lakeland Christian 1
2022 - *Lakeland 5
2022 - *Lake Wales 5
2023 - *Lakeland 5
2024 - **Lakeland 2

Based on the teams listed above in conjunction with Laz' point system, here's how Manatee and Polk compare since 2011:

Manatee County 11
----------------------
Manatee - 8
Palmetto - 3

Polk County 37
-----------------
Lakeland - 18
Victory Christian - 8
Lake Wales - 6
Lake Gibson - 3
Lakeland Christian - 2

Again, I just post information. Feel free to fact check for your own edification. I can't speak on how much talent Lakeland absorbs in Polk County because there's an abundance of talent, lots of movement between all the schools and yet the county quietly continues to produce. However, I was shocked to see how much tradition and talent rich Manatee County has struggled in football since the 90's and one begins to wonder if the Canes are on the cusp of leading a county resurgence. Only time will tell. Until then...

"That giant sucking sound you hear is not Lakeland sucking Polk County dry of all its talent but Manatee County's overall football importance decreasing in the state of Florida". No hate or envy, just pity.
