Excellent QB-WR duo in Franks and Gavin and a ton of returning starters. Not the deepest area to pull from but with the returning experience they should be better than they usually are. Definitely a state contender IMO.
Hey Victory-6, there's not a lot of traffic on the high school boards in Florida but I'm looking forward to the game. I wish it wasn't in the middle of the day...it's going to be miserable hot. If it was at night our side would be standing room only but I'm afraid it's going to be a very sparse turnout...I go to all of the games but even I'm dreading a 1:00 pm kickoff. lol
We should be very good in 5A this year. From what I'm hearing this game is going to be a pretty big mismatch. It sounds like you guys should be playing St. Thomas Aquinas or Miami Central...I think they are more on your level.

Yes i will be at the game, there are a good amount of Spartanburg fans coming down to watch this game.A believe we will have charter buses bringing fans also.I agree i would prefer to watch this game at night but i guess we just have to go with what ESPNU have us scheduled for. I watched Franks on the Nike skills challenge, his has a pretty good arm. Our QB does also he threw for over 4,500 yrds and 52 tds last year as a Jr. We also have the #2 running back recruit for the class of 2016, he is something special!!
I've heard about your RB...he sounds like a stud. Hopefully it will be a good game. I hope you have a safe trip down...that's a long ride! We're playing in Orlando at Disney against a team from Pennsylvania the following week. I'm still deciding if I'm going to make that trip.
Sounds as if Wakulla is legit if teams are willing to travel that far to play them!! I saw a preseason ranking of Florida teams where Wakulla was ranked #10 in the state.
Cathedral Prep went 11-1 last year i don't know what they have returning this year but they look like a pretty good team. We are coming down Thursday Aug 27th and staying until Aug 30th, i was wondering if you knew of any other local high school games in that area that will be played on Friday 28th? Also how far is the beach from Wakulla High School?
Are you staying in Tallahassee or Wakulla? There are two hotels right near Wakulla High..in fact one is pretty much across the street. The coastline is minutes from the high school but it's more of a bay coastline. Since you're coming from South Carolina I recommend you go to St. George Island. It's more of a beach atmosphere.
If you're staying near the high school, it's probably a 45 minute to an hour drive. You can follow Hwy 98/Coastal Highway(which runs right in front of Wakulla High) all the way to St. George. The drive is very scenic..it pretty much follows the coastline the whole way.
If you're staying in Tallahassee you can count on it being close to a two hour drive or more...depending on the traffic.

If you haven't made reservations yet, here are the hotels I was talking about. The Magnuson is about 2 minutes from Wakulla High on the golf course. The UF football team has stayed there before when they come to play FSU. Boston College stayed there last year when they played FSU.
There is a Best Western right across from Wakulla High that is nice too. I'll post links below.

Good deal, it sounds like you're set. The Magnuson is nice. I recommend you go swimming at Wakulla Springs. The water is crystal clear and cold!!

Angelo's Restaurant is good if you like seafood. It's about 10 minutes from Wakulla High straight down Hwy 98/Coastal Hwy at the bridge overlooking Ochlocknee Bay. It can be a little pricey but it's a nice atmosphere. Another place that is good is The Coastal in Panacea. The prices are good and so is the food...it's just a little hole in the wall place on the way to Angelo's. Tropical Trader is also good...it's right before you get to Angelo's.

I assume there are no other High School football that will be played Friday Aug 28th in that area. I was really looking foward to seeing another Florida team while we were down that way.
I think we'll go to the Leon vs Suwannee game since its not that far from the Hotel. I see Suwannee went 14-0 last year and Leon was 4-7. Do you think Leon will be better this year? Also i googled the stadium for this game and the field only has seats on one side.Is that picture updated? If not, do they have seats on both sides now?
Google the Leon County fairgrounds..that's where Gene Cox/Capitol Stadium is at...Leon has the on campus stadium with the seating on one side but they only play one or two games a year there. The Tallahassee schools share Capitol Stadium.

We just want to see two teams from Florida play a good game while we're down that way, don't really care to watch a blowout!! Hopefully Leon will be able to compete will Suwannee!!
Erie Prep Fan here! Looking forward to our opener with Wakulla! We lost alot to graduation. Excited to see what our team looks like against a quality opponent. Hopefully we can get some pressure on the talented Quarterback and have a big enough Corner to contend with your star WR. Rickards vs. Madison County would be a better game..This game is played @ Rickards which is right down the road from Gene Cox Stadium

Nu'Trelle have never heard them do football, but once tuned in to coverage of a fireworks display. Never heard a radio announcer talk that fast. After 4 or 5 minutes, the guy finally ran out of breath and passed-out.

At the bottom of this article it says the next game will be on ESPNU, but I believe this must be regional programing because my D-TV box (In Pa) says College Football will be on.
