Early going it was all offense. Both teams could run and throw at will. Mainland called time out late in the first quarter and made an adjustment up front. Basically they controlled BT's rushing attack the rest of the way. BT's passing attack was another animal though. Bartram Trail rotated numerous quarterbacks all of which could throw the ball down field. The wideouts caught some, the wideouts dropped some. Mainland covered them, Mainland didn't cover them. If not for the continuous harassment of the Buc's Jachai Polite and fellow D-1 partner Kevin McCrary causing the QB's to run for their lives both teams might have scored 100pts between them. 7A Bartram Trail has the Slooooooooooowwwww-est defense I can remember. I'm old and have forgotten many games, but these kids had NOTHING for Mainland's offensive speed. QB Houston, RB Killins, and WR Baker all had 100yd+ games. Penalties still dogged the Bucs. And this area must be cleaned up for the better opponents that lie ahead. Overall Mainland was much improved from last week's opener. They have incredible talent all over the field. They also have some problem areas that need to be addressed. Still early coaches.....you got the players.
