16 Year Old Northview Player Has Heart Attack

Junior defensive end Dariontae Richardson — the Defensive Player of the Game in the 1A playoffs against Graceville, suffered a heart attack Saturday morning at home. It's hard to understand how such a young and fit athlete could have a heart attack. He is slowly recovering but the team will surely miss him as the continue in the playoffs.

Northview High School is located north of Pensacola almost at the Alabama border in a rural area. I will provide updates as I find them.

Horrible, hope he's ok. Keep us updated, thoughts and prayers.

When I was in Junior High four HS kids up in Tampa died in a lightening strike. Our team was gathered up at the end of practice and we got hit that year, but we were really lucky, it must have hit the ground nearby, we just each got a huge shock.

Don't know how much more I'll hear. That team lost last night so they won't be on the sports page much. But I'll keep checking.

Shockingly, he did not survive. I only saw a glimpse of the story on the feed at the bottom of the local news but found this story online. Such a talented life cut short way too soon.
