Venice

Again your missing what needs to be addressed. I heard the person that filmed the practices was a parent and they filmed every single one of them.

Parent of a Braden River player that is.

I heard different I heard Venice obtained and was in possession of the tapes weeks ago.

If that's the case maybe Venice is slinging mud looking to keep the heat off. From an outsider that's how it looks. Don't want people poking around, asking about a volleyball coach, football transfers, and their addresses.

Titles to win, jobs to keep, and a state championship that needs to be preserved. FHSAA needs to do their due diligence here, there just might be a bigger story, that arises.

Lets be honest, missing Spring practice is going to hurt the kids the most. The game vs Immokalee means little.

I would be more interested if college coaches will still stop by Braden River since they cant practice ?

Kills the kids. Coach took zero responsibility for this. He didn’t know?? Come on. Shouldn’t be a head coach if he doesn’t know the most talked about rule in fhsaa history. Let Sanders take over he’s the reason for the success anyway, him and they have been cheating. But that really screws the kids!!! Shame on Curt. Take some responsibility.

As the FHSAA began its review, Venice coaches made sure that everyone knew that North Port had recently broken some rules, too.

Venice’s Peacock reported to the school district that he had received a copy of a video that showed North Port players hitting sleds during spring drills, which is forbidden by the FHSAA.

Five days later, another nudge from Peacock:

“I am just wondering what is taking place at North Port, with the illegal practices,” he wrote in an e-mail to the district. “Do they plan to turn themselves in?”

North Port got the hint. Kenney self-reported the violation to the FHSAA in early April. North Port paid a $250 fine, and Kenney apologized to the FHSAA for his “over-zealous” new coach, Matt Pryer.

But recruiting is difficult to police, and difficult to prove.

Investigators for the FHSAA heard rumors that players and coaches used text messages to recruit athletes from other schools to go to Venice, but found no such text messages or hard evidence.

Even without finding the messages, the FHSAA fined Venice $2,500 for a recruiting violation based on witness statements.

Venice coaches and Athletic Director Pete Dombroski say they did not recruit anyone, but the school decided not to appeal the fine.

Nobody denies that there were lapses in the school’s screening process for transfer players, as demonstrated by the nine ineligible students who were spotted amid the investigation either by the high school or by the FHSAA.

These were from 2010

Then this last spring... Seems like a pattern huh?

Indians coach had illegal contact with a student-athlete from North Port

Venice High football coach John Peacock has been fined and suspended for the three weeks of spring football practice and the school was fined $5,000 for having illegal contact with a student-athlete from a rival school.

According to a report released Friday afternoon, the Florida High School Athletic Association “received an allegation containing text message communication between representatives of the school’s athletic interest (referring to three Venice High student-athletes), a student-athlete of North Port High School” and Peacock.

Venice High took the following action: It suspended Peacock for the three weeks of spring football, including no contact with the coaches or players, required all student-athletes to receive annual seminar training to ensure proper conduct in adherence to FHSAA Policies 36 and 37 (on recruiting) and required the three student-athletes involved in this case to write a letter of apology to the North Port High School principal, athletic director and head football coach Brian Hatler, a former Venice High assistant.

Get in trouble for recruiting, film somebody else breaking a rule, turn them in, feel better about your program.

I doubt CK had any influence at all. Lets not forget this is the same kid who after another loss at home told players from Venice he was leaving. What you read and what is the truth is not always the same.

Bradentonian venice did not have 9 player lmao. They had a kid who’s parents took jobs in another state 1 in Texas and 1 in New York. The kid moved in with a friend for the last few months of school. It wasn’t even during football season.

You are correct as he has moved on just like the players he texted.

Saying he has moved on makes it seem like he got a promotion.

No.

He was fired for being a creep, a phony and a cheat.

It's safe to say that he ran one of the dirtiest programs in the state during his tenure and all the while had some of the most sanctimonious fans, too.

Ck moved on just like the players he texted. I'm guessing you don't even know the player in question from N Port.

No, he got fired. As in involuntarily removed from his position of employment.

Do you major in artful dodging? What the hell does a North Port player that Peacock recruited have to do with him being a sleaze and running the dirtiest program in Florida?

You make bad communicators look downright amazing.

The move on was from the player in question. You are an entertaining fellow

This is incredible.

Your boy gets fired today and you're like a stuttering robot repeating old sleazy things from a year ago.

You cheer for the dirtiest program in Florida with the sleaziest characters and you can't even muster a single word about it.
