Joe did but he turned them down, in part because he found he just didnt care for what it took to be successful at the college level despite the success he had had Eastern Kentucky.....(Division 2 National Champs and runners-up in his 3 years as Offensive coordinator at Eastern Kentucky).
Peacock has grown as a Head coach, but I found him to not be the best play caller or field general as a HBC, during the 2010 to 2015 time frame. What stands out to me more than anything is 2 things, that changed with Peacock. 1.) He brought in some quality assistant coaches and kept all them together for the most part 2.) Recruiting Recruiting Recruiting - There's really been no one in Sarasota County or even Charlotte County at times to challenge these players to stay at their natural schools. Now with the liberal transfer rules, its made things even easier to get them over to Venice. I could see him possibly trying out Georgia, Texas, or Alabama st the HS level, but you saw how well that turned out for Sexy each time.....(he had winning seasons but ZERO state titles) and at the highest levels at each of those states, Peacock would be facing coaches with equal access at resources and talent.
I bought the game for myself, while I do enjoy the game. Some of the upper levels of accomplishment one can achieve, requires an enormous amount have time. I started out at the freshman level..(to get a feel for the game and controls), picked the lowest ranked D-1 school (University of Louisiana-Monroe) and by season 2, won the national championship over UGA 105-3. UGA's over-all team rating was almost 20 points better than ULM. Im ready to move to the next level now........but going to give the game a rest for a spell 1st. I've always had a weakness for video games. I always got along well with the younger crowd....... played in a 3 on 3 "Hoop it Up" tournament in downtown Tampa with a 20's crowd of guys i hung out with, went on a 3 day canoe trip with a bunch 20 year olds before I left for Georgia in 93 (that was a great time! played wiffel ball at night in cow fields using cow patties as bases).....while I was still in Athens and in my 40's, got asked a number of times to participate in weekend video game tournaments, with the younger guys at work. Still played B-ball with UGA students in my late 30's, but encountered for the 1st time in my life.... a number of female co-eds wanting to play too, and because my speed and jumping ability had been declining had begun using a much more physical style of play to compensate......playing against athletic females made that imposible as well very uncomfortable.....but damn some of those young ladys were surprisingly good! Sill did a few things in my 50's (Kick ball, basketbll, Trampoline etc.....) but now at almost 65 video games are about it!
