Cedar Creek Christian vs Legacy Charter for the SSAA Class 1A title. Game was Friday night. I swear this state is still in the Stone Age when it comes to covering High School Athletics. We have these so called tools:
Max Preps, ScoreStream and each and every week I still need help finding numerous scores. Mr. Cannon can attest. Without his assistance I would have pulled the plug after week 4.
This is the only reason I stopped doing Florida high school football three years ago and it still has not gotten any better. It’s a disgrace. We are big now. Big enough to get excellent coverage of high school sports. Hell, we even have 40 electoral votes. Thats 12 more than the state of New York!

Actually Texas gets 40, Florida is currently at 30 electoral votes. Should have been more if not for the screwing that took place with the last census, there was a reason why the census report release was delayed unil after Jan 20th, 2021. It cost several states additional electoral votes as well as greater numbers in the house of repersentative. Obviously with those denied gaines, there were states that benefited by keeping those electoral votes as well as house seats.

In as far as missing scores, I believe a lot of that can be attributed to the decline of the print media and its subsequent decline of beat writers. Cant tell you the number of times I met with Newspaper publishers in Georgia before I retired, to discuss alternative methods of circulation. All were facing declining subscribers numbers, that in turn then meant declining numbers of advertisering dollars. For survival they were making cuts in their staffs, reducing the number of days the newspaper would publish, and in some cases utilizing centralized methods to print their publication. All were just begining to explore digital publication.

Good work Gatorman! Where did you find that? I looked around last night but didn’t find anything.

Believe it was a online publication called "West/Southwest Orange Observer"

No one bucked, utilizing the internet to search for information than I did. When the USPS established their own intranet, and transitioned all of its manuals and pubs to html links instead of printing hard copy it kind of forced my hand. Had a friend that had at one time been the head librarian at Old Dominion University, he reminded me of how you would approach research at a library and suggested to me to incorporate those same methods with doing searches online....... particularly as it related to searching actual manuals and publications of the USPS. Most of those practices are useful with doing general online searches too.
