State Finals Attendance

Can anyone that has been to the games give attendance numbers?

I believe 3a was only 1752 or close to that.

Buddy Collings, of the Orlando Sentinel says the announced crowd was 5,834 for (7A) STA/Osc-Kiss

Apopka and Columbus will have more fans than all the other games combined.

5A was really down in attendance.

I doubt Apopka/Columbus has 19k.

5A was down because Godby does not travel well and AH really doesn't have a big fan base. Last year 5A probably was a lot larger because Green Cove brought the whole town.

Godby doesnt travel well? The game they played at Cocoa for a berth in the state title game a few years ago they brought 600-700 and in the 2008 3A Championship Game they brought a little over 1000.(The 3A game that year I believe had the highest attendance)

I was at the state title game and I think 1000 from Gobdy is a big overstatement. Even Michael Langston a Godby alum has been complaining about the same thing for some time.

They travel well for a team traveling 4 hours so 500 to 700 fans is not bad but Niceville is coming 7 hours and they are bringing 3000 fans so there's that... Lets not forget Port St. Joe and Hamilton county both brought more fans than Godby and their town probably has a smaller population than student enrollment @ Godby's.

All of the records are below page 143... I don't think 3A could ever out do the highest classification like EVER. I was at that game as I have been at about every championship game since 01 and Cocoa brought the whole town and then some. You guys had like 90% of that 3333
