Can a coach force a player to participate in an off-campus sports activity (7 on 7, summer AAU basketball, fall baseball) not sponsored by the school that the individual has to pay to join? Can the coach tell them it's required to make their sports team the next season? By the way, this coach happens to coach and be paid for both the school sponsored and non-school activities.
I think it's illegal but have no idea where to look in the rule book for something like this. Can anyone point me to the rule that makes this illegal or tell me why it's not?
