Not sure I should even start this thread. This was an easy victory for the Pirates. Dunbar played like they had to show up but didn’t really want to. There is no telling how much the recent storms have had an effect.

Just like their mascot Port Charlotte weathered the storms better. From the opening kickoff they were a well oiled machine. Would like to see them play against a good team that is ready to play them.

Does Port Charlotte have a chance of making a state championship run this year?

Other than Naples or Dunbar, Port Charlotte doesnt have too much to be concerned about in 4A Region 3, but if the playoffs are still setup to have region 3 and 4 face each other in the semis Norland or American Heritage await............... Don't believe Port Charlotte is in a position this year to challenge either

I’ve seen both Norland and Port Charlotte play this year. Norland’s defense would limit Port Charlotte to 10 points. Norland would hang about 24 points on the Pirates. I would like to see that game though. Both teams have quality QB’s.

Hey Naples crushed them last year and the Pirates managed to beat them Friday night in Naples stacking the box. They say it a lot about PC, but this does sound like their best team, they're like the Canes this year - used free agency effectively.

You got that right, most of it coming on the defensive side for Manatee......the key player being at the MLB position!
