Well, it wasn't meant to be. Not for lack of effort or the many many hours of hard work put in on the practice field or the classroom. The Mainland players and coaches did all they could to send Miami Central home with a rare loss. They just weren't good enough tonight to succeed at that task. Big, powerful, athletic, fantastic kicker/punter, heart, will, determination, the Rockets have it all. Next Saturday they will be going for their third championship in a row. Don't bet against them. You will be disappointed. Mainland hung tough till the bitter end. They also had a few chances to take advantage of some sloppy Miami penalties that kept Mainland drives alive. It just wasn't enough. The wound is to fresh now to spin the defeat in a positive way. At a later date some of us will get over it better then others. Heads up Buccaneers, you got nothing to be ashamed of. You left it all on the field of play......Buc Forever

Mainland had a nice season. But the Big 3 in South Florida (Booker T., Miami Central and Aquinas) are at a different level. Those schools don't aim for state titles. They're playing for national championships. The rest of the state is small potatoes.

Don't want to make this about 4A, but one small potato came 2 feet from baking a big potato when Cocoa tripped going for 2 on the last play of the game and fell at the 2 foot line. We have next year to make up for it so them big potato's better start lining up their transfers since Cocoa returns most of their team.

Mainland should have been in the north, this was a set up

If st thomas wants to win a national championship maybe they shouldnt get their face beat in against bosco, baller

Because Daytona is much closer to Northern Fla than Seffner. Having to drive to Fort Myers when it's right down the road from Tampa makes no sense. Just look at the two cities on the map, and answer your own question.

And look at the Largo/Venice district in the North
