General Question: Is the job of the HC or a coach on the staff to assist with getting players recruited? Is it the job of the coaches to contact prospective schools, whether it be FBS, FBS, DII, NAIA, or DIII? I've seen coaches that do absolutely nothing when it comes to recruiting. I've seen coaches that only reach out to schools for players that are FCS/FBS only, and I've seen coaches that reach out to all levels if the players wants to play on the next level.

I know a number of coaches in the Sarasota/Manatee County area, that are coaches specifically designated as "Recruiting Coordinator". There mission as such typically in my mind would be to make sure players with lower player rankings are provided with means to get noticed by college programs.

Back in the early 2000's UGA (under Mark Richt), would reach out to every headcoach in the Southeast, to provide names and brief player profiles of kids that they would deem capable talent wise of playing at the D-1 level. I'd see 100's of these come back to the UGA PO Box 1472 Athens, GA, and was a means by which UGA hoped to catch knowledge of players that might have otherwise slipped through the cracks.
