Im sorry, anyone not organic to Florida, in my mind isnt Florida......is why I don usually consider IMG for these tpye of listings

I agree with you Gatorman. Kind of want to put an asterisk by their name but at least they chose to spend the remaining of their high school career in beautiful Manatee County.

I remember as a kid jumping off crane booms, into the pits that had been dug but then filled with water as a kid as well as strawberry fields where beautiful Nick Boliteria Tennis Academy(sp?) /IMG is now located....To me there's nothing beautiful about that particular area of Bradenton....

Yeah, if they played their college ball here count them (not so much if they were one year mercenaries or portals).

This goys way back when I was the enforcer against guys like Texas Linebacker about which state had the best high school football (Look at per capita size and its Florida hands down for sending guys who played high school ball in FL to NFL).

I was born in Staten Island but moved to Punta Gorda when I was four - my entire football career was Florida, and even us guys in the NAIA were really proud of repping our state and its brand of football. In fact when you consider they specifically targeted and came to South Florida in 1972 to recruit ten of us from Belle Glade, Cardinal Newman, Key West, St Thomas Aquinas, Tarpon Springs and Charlotte, with their restrictive travel budget, it seems like they were onto it before the NCAA and before Miami claimed So FL. They knew since Florida had only major colleges, there was a lot of talent down here that had potential and might not otherwise play if they weren't D-1 types. Us Florida guys immediately turned the program around we won 2 KCAC Titles and played in two Bowl games.

Just think of how many guys were missed, never played college that could have gone on to NFL careers.

So I don't think it has as much to do with birth - it's the sun, the speed, the dawgs, and the competition that makes Florida's talent.

I totally get that IMG isn’t an organic Florida High School program. The IMG players are counted as Florida high school players. IMG does play teams from Florida. Of course, most of the time the Florida teams go to IMG to play them. Some IMG players are from Florida. I know that IMG does heavily recruit young players that show promise that are usually 9th maybe 10th graders in Florida. Many of them are recruited to play on the second level team(White). Would our attitude change is IMG played in the FHSAA? On 2nd thought, forget that.
