I don't believe the Manatee #1 ranking holds by season's end. If they loose to Riverview Friday night, and the game against SE at the end of the regular season is going to hurt their strength of schedule too.....its possible they could even slip to #3.

My understanding is Venice and Charlotte have clinched District tiles.
Manatee's game against Palmetto next week settles the District 13 title (Manatee JV Plays undefeated Palmetto JV, I'm expecting Palmetto JV to put a major beat down on the Manatee JV)
Gulf Coast game against Immokalee next week settles District 16 title

I went 9 last week as well with the list, just as a those looking from the outside hoping to possibly get in kind of deal. Haven't really followed Sarasota this year, other then the Fort Meade and Manatee games. I didn't think either time they were a particularly bad team...(not a 0-7 team at this point of the season anyway). I wasn't sure about Phillips watching one of the preseason videos, in as far as trying to gage him personality wise and how I felt it might translate as a HBC? I wondered also about the Charlotte coach, only because he came across to me as someone that ought to be in the ministry.....rather then coaching, but he appears to be having things turn around as the season nears its end.....which ideally any coach want to see from his team as they mature (and get healthy). Anyway tuff year for the Sailors bottom line.

As a side note: Sarasota certainly took the hammer to Venice's strength of schedule ranking this week in the rankings <grins>
