DON'T BUY RESERVED SEATS at FHSAA Football finals.
I purchased "Reserved Seats" for last nights game between STA and Osceola. I arrived 30 minutes before kickoff. And low and behold, there
were people in my seats. I asked them what seats they had, and they
replied General Admission. I politely told them that I paid for these
seats, and they needed to move. They refused. So I went to speak to
the "ushers". The first one I spoke to told me that no one told him
that ANY of the seats were reserved. I went to another usher. The
second one said that only the first row is supposed to be reserved. My
seats were in Row E of section 108. The 5th row. Clearly, the ushers
were not given proper instruction. I noticed several other people with
tickets in their hands, and people were in there seats. There was a lot
of confusion going on in section 108 because of the lack of preparation. The FHSAA needs to understand that when you charge a premium price for RESERVED seats, that you are responsible for holding those seats until the buyer arrives.
It was only in the middle of the 1st quarter, when someone got the
police to come over, that this problem started to get resolved. All of a
sudden, the people with General Admission tickets started to move.
Imagine that.
It shouldn't have to come to that. When you sell RESERVED SEATS, that
means you are going to hold the seats until the buyer of those seats
arrives. Not leave it up to ticket buyer to call the police to have the people
that don't belong there removed.
DON'T BUY reserved seats unless you are prepared to have to move people out of them yourselves. Because the ushers or FHSAA aren't going to hold your seats for you.
If you are holding reserved seat tickets for the games that are on Dec 13th. You better get there early, because if you don't I'm sure there will be people in your seats.
