Tarpons are a penalty machine this season. They started off with 20 yards in the first seven plays of the game last night. O-line is a capable group, but take penalties at the most inopportune times; they started the game with two offsides and a holding call. A couple weeks back one of them had 20 yards by himself in the first half. Team had 115 yards in penalties the 1st half.
Start of the 2nd half the O-line took another couple of quick penalties, taking away nice gains forcing us to punt. Up 21-3 we intercept, have the ball on the Red Knights 6 yard line, ready to put them away; then the defense (we've already had a key defender sit a game for unsporstman's) hopped on the undisciplined train - 60 yards of penalties in the first 10 or so plays of the half. That moved us back around the 50.
Playing that sloppy the Tarps were lucky to win last night because North charged back, making it 21-18 and it took another INT to stop them late, then we had a rare clean drive and scored a final TD .
In my day, we would have watched film this morning, got the running shoes on and would have run sprints and stadiums till we puked our guts out because a disciplined team like Ft Myers will jump all over those gifted opportunities
