Apopka took Manatee to the woodshed in this one. Great season and lots of returning talent next year!

Go Canes Go!

I had Apopka 56-456 rush, 6TD rush. Plus 3-6 pass, 86 yards. Manatee had 183 yards passing, 47 and 54 on their TD. About 40 yards rushing.

Apopka was the better team.More importantly they were the better coached team.Manatee's coaches absolutely had no answers.Very discouraging and quite embarrassing.Manatees offense? 2 plays. Litterly 2 plays. I laugh.that was there offense. Take away that and their under 100 total yards.

I have no idea why they didn't figure out that throwing it over the top was the answer and not running sweep left right... That was into the teeth of Apopka's strength.

It was a bad showing by Manatee but a really good season overall.

Peezy and I watched this one together and agreed that the Canes were running right into the strength of the APK defense. At the end of the day it didn't matter. APK was bigger, stronger, faster, and better coached. Congrats.

Have no idea how they will match up with Columbus because I haven't seen Columbus play. The way to beat APK is with a good passing game and to get a lead. Columbus probably can't do this.

Every team that's scored big on APK has done it thru the air (with a ton of late heroics and deep passes).

Funny, all the experts on this board said the same thing about South Dade. Columbus is a very balanced and disciplined team. They're not the typical Dade County team filled with speedy athletes and tons of D1 talent. All they do is just beat you. Apopka better bring it.

Will the old Manatee coach be back ???
Huh? Never knew that was a possibility. What's wrong with coach Booth? In only his first season, the Canes win their district and three playoff games. I would just assume show the guy some respect.

Manatee Magic, big shoes to fill.. Did well and I wondered if Kinnan would return..

Apopka is playing its best football of the year and will be ready. I don't think they will underestimate what Columbus brings to the table and I am sure the coaches and kids will be ready. Looking at film of both Columbus and Flanagan, I felt the latter would pose a bigger threat to Apopka (it is a match-up and not a talent issue). Still, Columbus is in the finals for a reason and I don't think the Darters plan on taking them for granted. After going at 75% through the month of October, I feel this Blue Darter team is playing to its full potential, and while far from unbeatable, is capable of presenting problems for any high school team.
