She brings up some good points, but I think asking coaches, fans, ADs to rank the best teams is insane. There is no way a coach sees that many teams in a given year, so other than basing it off reputations and wins, what are we really talking about. I still think Division/Classes 3-7 should have districts.

I don’t think 3A and above should have no districts whatsoever because you are using a point system and if one team is good in that district and the rest just plain out sucks then that one team gets penalized for being forced to play those on that district that suck!!! In other states that use the point system they don’t have districts because it makes sense not to. Just have regions then the top 8 or whatever seeding will work, and then let the schools schedule whoever. This way we may get to see fresh teams and new rivalries begin. Let ok at Tampa Jesuits District and how many teams are in that district. It’s very unfair to Tampa Jesuit and others in other districts with a lot of teams in that district.


Think about it in the past 20 years for example Hardee has played the same ole’ schools mainly because the way the districts were aligned. Having just regions will open more up more competition between schools.

The NHL is the best example they use a point system, but they don’t use districts it’s actually regions the way it’s setup. Yes they have to play everybody in that region and that’s because there isn’t a lot of NHL teams. It works great for the NHL and I’m telling you it will work for high school football.

I’m 110% for regions only but not with having districts.
